ANOTHER SEASON OF DISAPPOINTMENT?

I know, they've only played seven games out of a lockout-shortened 48-game season, so it's probably not time to panic. PLUS, Pachamama always says, "It's not how you start it's how you finish." Right, I know, got it. BUT, I have a bad feeling and when I get bad feelings about Pittsburgh sports teams' situation it's usually not good.

They're 4-3 and three of those wins have been against the Flyers and Rangers (twice). BUT the three losses have been to Tornoto, Winnipeg and the islanders and one of the wins was in a shootout against Ottawa. Worse, two of those losses were at home. Oy!

This is NOT a good way to start a season that you want to finish good. Especially considering the last three seasons (post Stanley Cup win) when they started out good and finished bad (losing to Montreal in the second round), terrible (losing to Tampa Bay in the first round after leading 3 games to 1) and just awful (losing to the Flyers in the first round having never had a lead in games).

They just playing some really boring hockey right now. I need to see some life! Plus they've already lost their third best defenseman, Matt Niskanen, for two to four weeks with an injury. They are pretty deep with defensemen BUT...

Today it's the Devils AT HOME. We'll see if they can break that 0-3 CEC losing streak.
