THE CUSHION SATURATION – Season 2, Episode 16 (March 2, 2009)
From The Big Bang Theory; The Complete Second Season DVD
(Penny and Leonard are sitting together in Leonard’s apartment)
P: (referring to her computer) The whole thing just froze. I don’t know what happened.
L: Calm down, we’ll figure it out.
P: How can I calm down? I’m gonna lose my whole shopping cart. That’s three hours of picking out shoes just shot to hell.
(Sheldon enters putting on a jacket)
S: Hello, Penny.
P: Hello, Sheldon.
S: You’re in my spot.
P: Are you planning on sitting here?
S: No, I’m going to the comic book store.
P: Then what difference does it make?
S: What difference does it make?
L: Here we go.
S: That is my spot. In an ever-changing world it is a single point of consistency. If my life were expressed as a function on a four-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system that spot, when I first sat on it, would be 0,0,0,0.
P: (looking puzzled) What?
L: (to Penny) Don’t sit in his spot.
P: (moving to the next cushion) Fine. (to Sheldon) Happy?
S: (moves toward the door) I’m not unhappy.
