THIS AND THAT – FEBRUARY 8

(Carryover from yesterday)

REED IS WRONG (AND PROVEN TO BE)
And I thought he was just irritating me.

From The Blaze

FACTCHECK.ORG does it to him based on comment concerning non-defense spending cuts.

HOW TO MEMORIZE A DECK OF CARDS IN 43 SECONDS

Just for fun read Tim Ferriss, author of "The 4-Hour Week," from the HuffPost. It's about the only thing I read there today that I believe.

"WOULD YOU LEAVE US THE HELL ALONE."

From HuffPost

Ted Nugent takes on Piers Morgan (more on him later). This is one fight Morgan will NOT win. Give him and gun and he won't win. What I'm tired of is the continuous assault on Texas by "America", now lead by imported British journalists (more on them later). FIRST you don't like our death penalty, THEN you don't like our stand on immigration, NOW you don't like our guns. I have an idea, STAY THE F**K OUT! Try and screw over Rhode Island 'cause it doesn't really matter. This is a state with a 25+ million population that is the last bastion of Freedom (capitalization intended) in Obama's changed "America". Don't screw with us because, I guarantee it, "someone is gonna get a-hurt real bad" over it. Message received and understood?

"WE STARTED TO PRAY FOR PEOPLE TO DIE"

From HuffPost

Sounds like liberals talking about conservatives, except for the praying. They just want His Highness to take care of the dirty work now. Unmanned drones?

HONORING AMERICA'S VETERANS ACT
Part of a whole collection of things under the Title: "A Nation against Westboro" (see above). I love the way liberals can just unilaterally enlist the emotions and sympathies of the entire nation in one of THEIR causes. I'm impressed.

From Huff Post

Forgot about this so thanks to the Huff Post for reminding me. (I never thought I'd thank them for anything except maybe for going out of business). The only damn reason El Presidente signed it was because he hates churches, of any kind, just like Stalin did. And he really doesn't give a damn about veterans, people. Wake up!

NOW WE'RE FIRING PEOPLE OVER TWEETS
What's next strange looks? Silly walks? Bad breath?

From Huff Post

You know, truly, I don't even care what it was about. What the hell happened to free speech or are liberals after the First Amendment now, too. "Me Likey Broke Girls." Hey, if CBS execs have the chutzpah to prance Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs around in skimpy clothes during the Super Bowl perhaps THEY should be the ones catching flack. Where are the feminists on this one (vis a vis, scantilly-clad women folk being objectified on TV)? Or are they totally deferring SOMETHING to men now, namely Super Bowl Sunday? The others that have gone down based on Tweeting all submitted nude photos of themselves or dirty comments were directed at another party. What's the harm in this other than his boss (a Republican) didn't want to take any flack over it, which he would have? Let's see what The Bard had to say about it, "Therein lies the rub."

NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL SIGNING DAY

From GoogleImages

Here's another thing that galls me and there is more than one national sport commentator that agrees. What is with the hoopla over the signing of high school athletes' commitment papers? We wonder why pro athletes are such prima Donnas? I don't. They're not men, they're kids in men's bodies. It's because of stuff like the National Signing Day coverage that feeds into their self-obsession and egos. In today's workd, by the time the reach the NFL they've been so covered, coddled and pampered that no wonder many of them go haywire (at least a little). They've never had to live inthe real world. In fact, I don't even seen any of the football players at our local high schools out with "regular" people, unless they're all under 5'10", which they're not. I know ESPN needs something to help fill it's 24/7/365 coverage but this goes beyond the pale.

I ALMOST FORGOT  ROBINS IS COMING BACK!
The world is safe, again. I just hope this never happens to Oprah or they might just have to finally name a month after her. Maybe they could change Black History Month to Robin and Oprah, I mean, Oprah and Robin Month! What a concept. I'd buy a t-shirt.

From Time

You know, I loved Robin Roberts at one time. She was great on ESPN. Then she hit the big time ("real" news) and she just blossomed, and, and we just loved her more. Then somehow an unjust God gave her, I can just bear saying it... cancer
(sob)... But somehow she channeled Susan Koman or touched the president's pants cuff... and she survived... and returned, like MacArthur.

But then, just as we all thought the world was once again right, it was something else (the story is really too long for me to keep up with all of the details). But she survived... AGAIN. I don't know, maybe it was ABC's 24/7 coverage... And now, now, do I dare say it, she's coming back... again... like Moses or someone even more inspiring and relevant to today's world... or like Big Bird or something just a wonderous. I, I, it's just so emotional, I don't think I can, can... excuse me, I'm getting all verklempt... Just watch... please. I know they'll find time to have at least a few glorious minutes of it on GMA. At least we all hope they will.

Take it and go.
