S: Oh look, Saturn 3 is on.
R: I don't want to watch Saturn 3, Deep Space 9 is better.
S: How is Deep Space 9 better than Saturn 3?
R: Simple subtraction would tell you it's 6 better.
L: Compromise, watch Babaylon 5.
S: I what sense is that a compromise?
L: Well, five is part way between three and nevermind.
R: I'll tell you, how about we go rock-paper-scissors?
S: Oh, I don't think so. Anecdotal evidence suggests that in a game of rock-paper-scissors players familiar with each other will tie 75 to 80 percent of the time due to the limited number of outcomes. I suggest, Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock.
R: What?
S: It's very simple: Scissors cuts paper, paper covers rock, rock crushes lizard, lizard poisons Spock, Spock smashes scissors, scissors decapitate lizard, lizard eats paper, paper disproves Spock, Spock vaporizes rock, and as it always has rock crushes scissors.
R: OK, I think I got it.
